Lux Z has an amazing natural ability to jump, which is reflected in his remarkable approval by the KWPN, Zangersheide, Hanoverian and Holstein studbooks. His consistency as a showjumper is shown by his outstanding competition history to date.

Lord Calando is the winner of different model and aptitude competitions and is the son and cousin of two of the best Holstein producers Lord and Calando respectively Lord has many progeny in high level competition including the famous Livius, winner of the Hamburg Derby and in the Olympic Games in 1984, L’Eperon, Lord Z, Lord Caletto and Aegon’s Lordon. Apocalypte Z is the daughter of Ahorn Z, the son of the famous Almé. Ahorn Z competed internationally as did his graded sons Acord I, Amaro, Antares and Aar. He also has a number of other progeny which have jumped with success such as Lord Arico, Acapulco and Dobel’s Gettina. Heureka was a Grand Prix winner in Aquisgrana and has been the founder of the family of the Breeding Zangersheide. She is also the grand dam of the famous Ratina Z, winner of the team Gold and individual Silver at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, winner of the World Cup in 1993, the team Gold at the World Championships in 1994 and the team Gold at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996.

Performance
Until 1998 he was ridden successfully at Grand Prix level by Jos Lansink and Ben Schröder, under which he was placed 2nd in the 1993 World Championships for young horses at Lanaken. He is currently being ridden by Jerry Smit he notched up several wins in 1999 including 3rd at the Hickstead Nations Cup, 1st at the Valkenswaard Grand Prix, 4th at the Calgary Grand Prix, and 2nd in the World Cup at Berlin. In 2000 Lux Z won an unprecedented £450,000 prize for winning two consecutive Grand Prix. And represented Italy with rider Jerry Smit at the Sydney Olympics. Lux Z is ranked 17th in the World Breeding Championships for Sporthorses based on his own winnings in 1998 and 1999.

Progeny
Lux Z not only produced foal class champions, mare class champions and FPP showjumping competition winners but also very promising sport horses. Products from his first season in Holstein are, amongst others, the international showjumpers Gazelle d 'Aubry (Thomas Voss), Lux Can Do It (Tobias Bachl) and Lagunas (Ben Schröder). From his first breeding season in the Netherlands, Lux Z supplied no less than five licensed sons, namely Lupicor-H (KWPN), Nobility (KWPN), Nagano (BWP), Niveau (KWPN) and Non Stop R (SZ). In addition to jumping ability, Lux Z also anchors his type and movements in his offspring.
