Foal Report
Scandic showed foals that varied from barely sufficient to richly developed. The foals are more than sufficient riding type.
The Scandic foals have an expressive head. The poll has sufficient length. The neck has sufficient length and good shape. The wither is more than sufficient in length and is sufficiently developed. The shoulder has good position and sufficient length. The back is sufficiently long, well muscled and sometimes a little deep. The loins are more than sufficient in length and are well connected. The croup is shaped well. The hamstring is long. The foreleg is more than sufficient in length with correct stance. Once in a while a foal had short legs. The stance of the hindleg is frequently long and sometimes sickle hocked. The base is well developed with more than sufficient quality.
The walk is pure, has good scope and suppleness. The foals move well in trot with good use of the hind- and foreleg. They are uphill with very much use of the body. The canter has good scope with much balance. The foals care good at changes in the canter.
In short: A uniform collection of good rectangular type foals that vary in development. The value of the foals goes up because they use the body so well during movement. They also show good leg technique and are good at changes.
There were 18 picked foals shown and eight that were selected by the owner. The value of the foals goes up because of their movement. Two foals that were inspected at home fit in with the above report. The foals that were selected by the owner also fit in with the above report.
The quality of the mares varied.
