Stallion Approval Report from the KWPN
(Ferro x Edelweis/G.
Ramiro Z)
#155 - Metall 94.9468 stb, 02/25/94, dark bay, height 1.67m, cannon 21.5 cm
(currently 1.70m - 16-3 hands)
Breeder: A. Verdellen; owner: J. Lamers and A Van der Goor
Type: Metall has an elegant appearance. The stallion has a good long neck and a well developed poll. He could be a little broader through the body and could be better muscled. His base is a little fine and he is a little toed out.
Examination: Metall is an honest stallion that is a little sensitive. He is more than willing to work and is easy to work. During the beginning of the test he was rather tense. This got better as the test went on.
The walk has enough scope and action. The trot also has enough scope and rhythm, but could have better self carriage. Sometimes the underside of the hoof becomes visible when he gets tense. The canter is big and has sufficient self carriage.
Metall collects well during dressage and carries himself well. He has a great deal of talent as a dresage horse and gives his rider a good feel. In jumping the stallion shows adequate foreleg technique, but he jumps too far forward and should have better push. He seems to have a more than adequate amount of scope and finishes the jump well from behind. Metall has an adequate amount of talent for jumping and gives his rider an acceptable feel.
Stall behavior is normal.
