Liver Chestnut, Born 1991

2006 Horse of the Year!

  • Jazz has definitely passed his qualities on to his descendants. They are a uniform collection of well bred riding foals with more than sufficient possibilities to develop, they trot well and all show good stance, tact, and respect. Many foals were highly placed at the national tests, and several were sold at record prices here and in Europe.
  • Jazz x Ariban was the winner at Champion Arnhem (the Arnhem Championships) Eight of his sons were reffered to Den Bosch for the 1998/99 stallion inspections. Three year old mare (Jazz x Wolfgang) became runner-up for jumping in Ermelo in 1998.
  • One of Jazz’s sons (Jazz x Romadour II) passed the national German tests. Jazz was introduced to sporting events by Tineke Bartels in the Prix St. George in 1999.
  • Jazz was fathered by the well known dressage stallion Cocktail. He was the only stallion to receive a 9,5 for his trotting abilities during performance testing in Ermelo.

The rest of his marks were nothing short of impressive:

  • 8 for walk
  • 8.5 for gallop
  • 9 for riding test
  • 9 for training report
  • 9 for stall behavior.

He has gone on to make the most out of his natural talents by moving up the dressage performance roster. He most recently came in overall 4th place under Tineke Bartels in the 2002 Dutch National Dressage Championships and was selected as the alternate for the Dutch team for the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain. Jazz has four approved sons, Olivi, Broere's Norway, Riant and in Germany, Jazz-Time. In the KWPN Dressage Index for young stallions, Jazz ranks 1st with a 185 (68%) reliability)
