Argus, 1.70m, dark bay, was born in 1982. He is by the well known Pion-Abgar xx/keur out of Rozetta/pref, prest who is by the famous Jasper/keur-Courville xx/pref. Argus performed very well at his KWPN performance test and claimed the 3rd place out of 24. His scores were: step-7, trot-7, canter-8, riding-7.9, jumping under saddle-9, free jumping-9, pulling-8, character-9, stable behavior-9 and training report-9. As a KWPN approved stallion Argus was exported to the USA immediately after his performance test, where he stayed until the end of his sport career in 1993. Since then Argus is back in the Netherlands and stands at his current owner's dressage farm and stud STV (Stoeterij 't Vierspan) at Handel.Argus belongs to the very few horses in the world that simultaneously competed at both F.E.I. Dressage (Laurie Flavo and Oliver Luze) as well as at Grand Prix Show Jumping (Hap Hansen).

Argus' descendant report summarizes 'A uniform collection of well developed foals with robust limbs. The movement shows much power from the hind legs. At 1989 American Keurings Argus produced 4 out of Top Ten foals in North America including 1st and 3rd. Among lots of other improvements Argus, having 62.5% gelderlander blood in his veins, passes on his wonderful character to his offspring. Refer to Pion not only sired the KWPN approved stallion Argus, but also the KWPN approved grey stallions Aktion/keur and Democraat. Aktion performed at Grand Prix level Dressage and Democraat performed high at both Dressage as well as Show Jumping. The KWPN has placed both stallions in their TOP-TEN index for dressage stallion.

In 1988, Argus sired more 'Premium 1' foals than any other breeding stallion in the US. In two breeding seasons, the stallion has sired more premium 1 foals than all other stallions during their entire breeding careers in the United States. In 1989, four out of the ten highest placed foals at the selection were sired by Argus. Argus has a jumping index of 129 and a dressage index of 131. ARGUS' sports results include 1st place PCHSA Futures Finals for Jumping, and in 1989 finished in the top 5 in his first Grand Prix. He continued to prove himself as a jumper when he won the Grand Prix at Showpark of Delmar and the Sundance Grand Prix at the Arizona Winner Circuit in 1991. As a dressage horse, Argus held many titles including 1989 CDA Reserve Champion Fourth Level Horse of the Year and in 1990 and 1991 was one of the only horses to be competing successfully in both Grand Prix Jumping and FEI Dressage. Argus' sire is PION by the famous thoroughbred ABGAR, who sired many famous jumping horses. At Argus' offspring evaluation in Holland, he received a first premium for offspring that had "Excellent and consistent in type, legs, body and movement." Also recently, Rozetta, Argus' dam has been awarded two degrees, Preferent and Prestalie!
